Jason was born in southern Ohio. Clarksville, A miniscule, but beautiful slice of Americana is recognizable to very few. Even as a child Jason thought otherwise. Although the beautiful world of art seemed unreachable from rural Ohio, Jason continued his quest to create original art. To pass his time, Jason did  what the other kids were doing and played baseball or built ramps for his BMX bike, but was always found carrying his sketch pad and pencil to capture childhood as he perceived it!

Jason married his artistic talents with an entrepreneurial spirit and began to enter many of the local art competitions and very quickly began placing in the top three places! His budding success in competition prompted him to go on to hold private showings for corporate parties, private home gatherings, and silent auctions.

As a child and fulfilling a desire to paint something new, one day Jason discovered just a short bicycle ride down the road was the grave site of Eli Harvey, a great American artist and the doctor stand in made more famous by the painter Norman Rockwell! Jason went on to supply art to the Historical Society and during a tour was shown a room dedicated to none other than Eli Harvey. This discovery brought Jason’s dream of becoming a professional artist a possible reality and ultimate goal.

Striving to learn everything that he could about his chosen path in life, Jason was accepted and attended art school in Cincinnati, Ohio for commercial art. This move led him to more commissions reaching across the tri-state area!

In 2002, due to the effects of 9/11 had on the local economy, Jason relocated to Ventura County, California hoping to continue his work in the art world. He quickly began to build up a new clientele base and developed friendships with interior designers specializing in beautiful Thousand Oaks, Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Carmel, and Malibu. This began a new chapter in his life and career as an artist. Not only did the move and thirst to create art benefit his professional life, but his personal life as well…

Jason married his beautiful and loving wife in 2007 and they are currently enjoying creating a family of their own in Southern California. Due to Jason’s choice of taking “the road less traveled”, he is stronger and filled with more inspiration to attain his goals. Jason’s next goal is to build a unique art gallery which he designed that not only produces art and promotes artists, but that also is genuine and ethical. Something that Jason feels the world needs more of.

"I love to create art that is powerful enough to take someone away to a happier place and to know that I made a positive difference in his/her life for even a split second. I just ask that I am blessed enough to keep my paintbrush in the lives of those who need that positive difference in life.” JRH

With hundreds of clients having anything from a sketch, a painting, or even a mural in their home, from Ohio and the eastern seaboard to southern California, Jason is perfectly content to have played a small part in the enhancement of their lives and homes.
